We got Shrink Mama’s Emotional Intelligence (EQ) toolkit as we are parenting what we consider to be a very emotional 4 year old! As a work-from-home mom, I witness a whirlwind of emotional changes in my daughter throughout the day and I don’t always know how to help her. At times, I even lose control of my own emotions and my daughter and I can become like two hurricanes headed for destruction! From the moment I open the toolkit, I feel a sense of excitement as Shrink Mama has made everything about emotions fun and accessible. I love the colourful guide– it contains everything I need to know about my child’s developing emotions and I keep learning new emotional skills! I think what me and my daughter both love about the kit is the exercises we can do together – spin the wheel, role plays and lots of games! Whereas emotions have always been a place of conflict in our relationship, now we could now play with emotions in a safe and open way. Through using the kit, I have realized that what my daughter experiences in terms of her emotions is normal. Emotions are now something we now ALL talk about all the time as a family. We also work together to find the best way to express and manage what we are feeling. One of the best things about the toolkit is that I know we will keep coming back to it as my daughter develops. Shrink Mama has taken a part of parenting that I used to find quite overwhelming and given me hands-on and fun activities to transform the way we think about and manage our emotions as a family. Every family needs this toolkit!

Fun, easy to use, exciting and very informative is what comes to mind when thinking of Shrink Mama’s brand new “out of the box” emotional intelligence toolkit. Shrink Mama has gone the extra mile by ensuring that the kit can be utilized by parents and professionals alike and that kiddo’s are involved in every step of the process. With the likes of interactive tools and hands on interventions the kit provides a solid basis for parents to work from on order to create a rememberable and emotionally educational experience for their little ones.

The Shrink mama IQ kit is so user friendly, the colors and characters are appealing to not only children but also adults. I have suggested the kit to some clients and I have heard nothing but positive reviews from the ones who have purchased the kit.

Reabetsoe Buys is an amazing psychologist and an even more amazing mother. She has married these two parts of her to create a kit that allows parents to help their children understand and process their emotions in a healthy way. Her Shrink Mama Emotional Intelligence Toolkit is packed with simple but effective tips and exercises to achieve this goal. My favourite item in the toolkit is the Emotions Wheel which can help children identify and name what they are feeling, which for many young children can be a bit of a struggle. As much as children will benefit from utilising this resource, parents (and non-parents too infact!) will also learn to become more aware of themselves in how they process (and model) their emotions to their children! Shrink Mama is a definite recommendation!

Bought the emotional toolkit, as a psychologist, I would highly recommend the use of the toolkit to help kids to get in touch with their emotions. The manual is easy to follow, the activities are well thought out and the kit looks awesome. Thank you for your toolkit Mama.

The SHRINK MAMA (EQ) TOOLKIT is not only beautifully written, illustrated and easy-to use, it is also grounded in a solid understanding of the difficulties children and parents face in navigating the emotional storms of early life. It is a valuable resource for any child, parent, grandparent, health professional, teacher or individual hoping to facilitate healthy emotional growth.

The shrink mamma EQ toolkit summarises extensive research and makes it easy and accessible for both children and adults. It is a kit filled with diamonds of wisdom I found useful as a therapist but even more so as a parent. Please make the “anger iceberg” and “what I can control rainbow ” into a poster so that we can all be reminded of them every day. Every parent needs to read this for your own emotional intelligence and that of your children. Best of all it is not time consuming or complicated. A great toolkit for the journey of parenting
